Before joining Bank of the West, Ms. Markus was a 22-year veteran of Citigroup, having most recently served as Head of International Retail Banking in Citibank's Global Consumer Group. She held a number of additional domestic and international management positions including President, Citibank North America. In this position, she also served as Chairman of Citibank West. Ms. Markus also served as Citibank's European Sales and Marketing Director in Brussels, Belgium, and as President of Citibank's consumer business in Greece. Ms. Markus is a former member of The Financial Services Roundtable. She is a member of Year Up Bay Area's Talent and Opportunity Board and is a trustee for the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York.
