Robert J. Hombach, CPA, is Independent Director of the Company. Mr. Hombach joined our Board in September 2017 and currently serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee. He served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Baxalta Inc., a public biopharmaceutical company spun out in June 2015 from Baxter International Inc., a public pharmaceutical company, until it was acquired by Shire PLC in June 2016. He served as Corporate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Baxter from July 2010 until the spin-off in June 2015. From 2007 to 2011, he also served as Treasurer of Baxter and from 2004 to 2007, he was Vice President of Finance, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, he served in a number of finance positions of increasing responsibility in the corporate planning, manufacturing, operations and treasury areas at Baxter. Mr. Hombach currently serves on the board of CarMax, Inc., a public company and in 2018 was appointed to the board of Aptinyx Inc., a public biopharmaceutical company. Previously, he served on the board of Naurex, Inc., a private pharmaceutical company acquired by Allergan in 2015. Mr. Hombach earned an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s J.L.
